Before you get started with AClock, there are three things your computer must know.
1) The most important thing the computer must know is the correct time. You can set the correct time using either the "Alarm Clock" or "Date & Time" control panels, or by using AClock (see the next chapter for instructions on how to use AClock to set your computer's time).
2) You must let your computer know where in the world it is. The best way to do this is to use the Map control panel. Click on your location (or type the name of a large city in your time zone) and click "Set".
System 7.5 (and later) users can also use the "Date & Time" control panel to select a major city in their time zone.
3) You must let the computer know whether or not you are currently experiencing Daylight Savings Time. System 7.5 (and later) users can do this also by clicking the Daylight Savings Time checkbox in the "Date & Time" control panel.
Users of Systems earlier than 7.5 must tell AClock directly that they are using Daylight Savings Time. Click the "DST Locally" checkbox in the "Display Options" dialog to do this. (Note: System 7.5 users do not need this function and the checkbox does not appear for System 7.5 users.)
In order to use all of the features of AClock, you need to register your copy. Open AClock and choose the "Register..." menu item under the apple menu. Type your registration number in the box provided. (To get a registration number, use the form at the end of this document. You can press command - 7 to go there now)
